Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and singer since the early 1990s. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway role, she was the role of Essie Carmichael in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in the Play. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of her time working with some of the most acclaimed actors and directors across the stage, film and TV and she continues that award-winning work with several upcoming projects. Ashford can be seen next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani, in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford is in the production of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson. This film is an Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford will make a return appearance on Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same team who created Hamilton, will direct the musical. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the nation's crisis, which swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment hearings in over a century. She was the star of two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Also, she has been on Broadway on Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde in addition to the original part in the role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for an Tony Award. Ashford is from the city of Denver resident who splits her time between Los Angeles.
