Pickler was born Kellie dawn Pickler on June 28, 1986. Her life was turbulent childhood. Her mother left her when she was only two, to flee from an abusive relationship. Pickler returned to her mother when she took over custody. But it didn't go as it was originally planned. When Pickler reached the age of 12, the court remanded her to her grandparents who brought her up to adulthood. Pickler due to the absence of her parents and older siblings, was too busy to do her studies. The young woman admitted that she no longer had time to study and started learning how to be a homemaker from a very young age. Pickler was a member of the cheerleading squads at both her middle and high school. North Stanly High School, where she graduated in 2004 the school she attended was her first choice.
